Wow, this book runs deep. If you are into woodworking or even carpentry this book is a great read. He goes into the physics of woodcutting, metallurgy, and of course, sharpening. Really interesting and useful to boot.

I thought I wanted a review of sharpening techniques for a variety of different tools and blades, so that I would have a solid basis to at least put a decent edge on almost anything. This book was too detailed for me, and much of the information is simple not useful for me. After several nights of reading, I got a comprehensive course on sharpening theory, along with how to set up a sharpening shop.

What it turns out that I wanted was some devices to put an edge on most of my tools and knives. I purchased a Lansky set'Lansky'' Sharpening System Kit and am very pleased with it. This book simply had more information than I wanted. I think it is a great book, just TMI.

This is an amazing book. It teaches you to sharpen damn near everything but only has about 3 pages on sharpening knives. If your main interest is sharpening knives pass on this book and just Google knife sharpening.

This is a good product at a fair price. It covers every aspect of sharpening that I needed covered.

I viewed this book at my local library many times. It became cheaper to buy the book than keep returning to the library.

This book covers it all. If it needs sharpening, this book will tell you how to do it. Goes into detailed, clear explanations. Makes it easy for you to understand and follow along. Provides recommendations on equipment to make it easy and inexpensive.
I highly recommend this book for any shop.
