this is a great introduction to fitting - i agree with the other reviewers that the options provided are limited, could use a few more pictures. however, the instructions on how to take your own measurements are great, and the book provides a neat little table to record this information, with spaces to compare it to your favorite fashion patterns.

one major turn-off was the pictures of sandra betzina in clothing about as fitted as a muumuu. if i hadn't read her other books, i would think all her fit recommendations are for people who like baggy clothes!

i purchased this book because of my college teacher's recomendation. good condition used book as described. received the book within a week. definately will purchase from this vendor in future.

This book explains a lot about altering patterns to fit different body types, just what I needed!

Preface: (1) I have not yet tried any of the methods in the book, (2) this is the first time I've purchased a book on this topic (pattern alteration), and (3) I've only been sewing a few years. Having said that, I found the book easy to read and understand. Since the purpose of the book is only to guide you with altering purchased patterns, you probably won't find answers to everything in this book. I do agree with the other reviewers, the photos aren't that great -- but then again, they're not that bad either. The only part I found lacking had to do with my own body shape which didn't seem to be covered. However, I think I may be able to take bits and pieces from different sections and combine them to get the results I require.

This book is well written and very helpful. Everyone should have this book if they have problems fitting clothes. Also had very fast service when it was shipped.
